    Re: Camanche Yesterday (6/19)

For whatever it is worth, when I was there on Tuesday, surface temp ranged from 74.7 deg's over by the dam to 77 deg's in the middle of the lake.

The lake is really full. I would think it is up close to capacity -- close to that disabled parking space right there at the North cafe. At least it is a shorter walk up the ramp to the parking lot. That is important to us old guys! Haha

Don't believe its just a warm water thing. They had them in the Winter, while surface trolling. I believe they are coming from the Hatchery's. They are a lot more active in the Summer for sure!! Just fillet and skin them. They DONT burrow into the meat. Just keep them on Ice when you take them out of the Lake. Robbie

Sounds like a nice Tuesday morning! And with at least a fish an hour to boot.

Those parasites are starting early this year but I guess it usually coincides with when they start schooling in deeper water though I don't know what temp triggers them. Sounds like they are still strictly external and don't reach past the skin to the flesh as others have historically reported at least.

    Camanche Yesterday (6/19)

Got out yesterday morning (yesterday being 6-18 to be precise). Caught three on Speedy Shiners and one on a Honeybee. They seemed to like bright colors this morning. Had what should have been number 5 at about 10:45. I had the rod in my left hand, net in my right hand, fish at the boat, and bingo it shook the hook – drat. It was heating up so I decided to call it a day.

Anyway, these were kind of rough around the edges to look at with some copepods, but still got to take home a stack of filets.
