I made my frame using 1/8" Aluminum square tubing and as mentioned made my Bimini top.

I sold the 19' Alumaweld Stryker earlier this year when I upgraded to my Duckworth.

The Sunbrella fabric I saw at Morgan's was/is much thicker so I'll go with that.
I think we have the same model boat. My sides and back curtains are in good condition. Is yours custom made?

My current top is very brittle and weathered and I wanted to give a DIY job a try before resorting to a professional job which I was quoted near $1000.

That is the spitting of mine, its Top Gunn material. There is 2 grades of this material, this appears like mine the lesser of the 2. I had a travel cover made from the top grade. The Bimini I am going to have made is from original grade. I've had a Bimini made from Sunbrella material on a previous boat, comparably I was more happy with Top Gunn.

Hmmm, seems like I've talked about this before. But what the heck. Many years ago I enrolled in an Adult Ed upholstery class. Most of the students were redoing chairs. I was doing my canvass boat top. Having access to the heavy duty upholstery machines as well as the instructor's knowledge was worth it.

Having done it, I wouldn't hesitate to take something like that on again. Just use the old one as a template and away you go.

I'd pay the $1000, sounds pretty reasonable. Is the middle flap zippered or snap?

Good for you! You'll save a bundle of money.

I'm about to do my canvas top on my Duckworth and will be buying Sunbrella canvas at Morgan's Upholstery Fabrics in Stockton.
