    Funny you should mention that. My FIL got hung up and when we got it loose he had a rapala lure on his line. His line somehow went through the split ring where a hook would be. Later he got hung up and when he pulled in he had a piece of mono tangled around his hooks. I pulled that in hoping for a Kokanee to have broken someone off however, it was a hard swimbait lure that a bass guy would use. Craziest thing I have ever seen.

    Should have stuck around, bite picked up around noon, I finished with a limit 16-18".

    New Melones 1 Aug

    Started at the south end of the lake around 6am. No bites until around 9am. Landed 2 cookie cutter 16" koks and was off the water about 11am. South end of the lake near the bear creek arm mouth. Teardrop watermelon dodger and a yellow with orange spot spin glow. 65ft OTW, 1.4 mph.

    Thanks to those of you that have shared info on New Melones so far this year.
