According to Caltrans' website, it could go until November 1.

At least you saw CHP officers there. They're usually hanging out at the Chevron station in Myers getting free coffee and donuts. They are absolutely useless up here especially in the winter time when there's chain controls.

And what’s with the dang roundabout at 50/89? Ain’t been up there for a minute.. couldn’t believe it on my way out of town, cars backed up to well beyond the top of the cliff on 50... good thing I went early....
oh and if that one laner at the bridge over a holiday weekend isn’t the stupidest idea I ever saw...

Yes...it is a mess if you plan to fish the West or East Carson rivers and come from Tahoe or the west. No parking at the 89 bridge and certainly the Alpine County Chamber of Commerce can't be too happy!

    Hwy 89 one lane... !!

    8/11/2019 5pm

Just got back from the cabin and the 88/89 bridge is being taken apart and only has one lane to Tahoe

and they have a light system in with no supervision...!!

Traffic was backed up all the way to the turn up the hill which was around 200 cars on a PRIME Summer day
for getting out before school starts.
It took 44 minutes for us to get to the light, before it turned green and let us onto Hwy 88 to get to Nevada.

Even traffic going West on 89 have to shut it down for a while.

Just letting people know, what's up.
