Do you lighten on the drag to offset the loss of streach with Braid?
Important to bow the rod to the fish when you get them close, and they make a run, and back off the drag a little, especially if you get one up quick that is green, a more parabolic rod helps to.

Braid here too. Figure the rod is supposed to be the main shock absorber.

Nothing more frustrating than working long and hard for a rare bite only to end with one of the worst feelings in the world, a lure pull out. Just part of the game, happens to everyone. Adding a second split ring to the back hook seems to help, but probably a bit of placebo affect going on too.

Good luck and remember every lost fish is one better than the poor guy who didn’t get bit at all.....

65# braid mainline on anchor or trolling. Good to be able to reclaim your lures back from snags.

I use braid as the main line and attach a top shot of 50' mono.

Braid or mono for backtrolling main line

Was using straight mono main line but in an effort to reduce takedowns that don't stick, I'm switching one of my main lines to braid.

So what is everyone else using when backtrolling Kfish, and please don't start a discussion on not waiting for the rod to load up, I do.
