    Re: Ice Fishing

If the ice was reported to be that thick it would support a vehicle, might have been a warm water spring where they punched through. Seen that happen on Big Lake in AK when the ice was 3' thick. People would go to the far end where there where springs thinking it was all good . Not so!

    Ice Fishing

Flaming Gorge 2-09-2020 This pic was taken off of another forum that I'm also a member of. It was posted by a friend who is also a north Ogden resident. He does a lot of Flaming Gorge fishing year round and when it comes to ice fishing he'll be out there jigging for lake trout. The ATV in this pic is not his but he does use one getting around on the ice. When it comes to ice fishing I have a problem with it which is why I'm not a fan of it at all. I don't like hearing the sound of ice cracking as you walk on it, with my 240lb frame adding additional weight with ATV's, snowmobile's, side by side's, and snow dogs surrounding you is just a matter of time before something gives. Also it hurts more now at my age when I slip and fall on ice. This ice is 16-18" thick as reported. FG is not capped completely and spring weather is looming. The only ice cube I want comes in my drink.
