View Full Version : Shark fishing in the Bay Area

I was interested in taking a charter boat to go out for shark - blue, makos, seven gill etc. Are there any charter boats in the San Fran area that target these - even just for catch and release?

You might wanna look into one of the smaller 6 pack boats and call them and ask, other then that I don't think there is any other ones that might. Here are some links of the ones that I know of, but there are more that you can find.

I've heard some good things about the Fury.

Fury would be my first PB choice
Morningstar catches them in the late Fall
Jim Cox charter out of Loch Lomond does trips for shark (advertises in FS mag)
Barry(Fishhookers) does not go for shark anymore last I spoke with him, but I could be wrong.
If Mark Delnero(Finaddict ) was up and running he would be my #1 choice, call him and see what is going on.
Soleman out of SF will do a shark charter.
Try a hitchike on the boards......
I'm hittin thenm this Saturday, will post.

I don't think you'll get blues or mako's out here... they usually target 7 gills and leopards, but do catch the occasional 6 gill and soupfin.

They are catching soupfins by point Bonita right now! The Fury is great I have personally been on it with only my uncle and I.
