Well Started with a 2:30am wake up get everything ready leave Tracy at 3:30 to pickup Nayr at 5:00 in Richmond then off to Tomales.Picked up some bait ( Mackeral) in Petaluma.Launched boat started engine as soon as we left the dock it dies.Figured it was cold ,got out to drop spot threw out 1st of 6 pots, went to restart engine and it wouldnt start. So were bobbing around with the cover off I change out the plugs and refire the engine decide to get back to the dock and check it out.Something wrong with the carb.So I raised the idle; motor started and idles ok and shut it off and restarted so we decide to go with it.We drop off the rest of the pots then I went over to another boat we talked with at the launch and asked them to look for us before they went in in case we needed help back ( we were staying in the area of Hog Island by the launch)They said no problem so we continued on.We tried drifting bait during our first soak for nada.Pulled the pots 3 times during the day for 15 dungies and 6 or 7 rocks. We used snares to occupy our time during the next soaks.Pulled our last pots around 1;30.Wind was picking up last hour or so probably 15 plus but waves were small (no problem). We cleaned the crab at the launch and headed home.Boat has to go to the shop before the next outting!!

Congrats on finding crabs. Kind of taking a risk with motor problem but all went well. Good for you two.

Yeah we new we were risking it but the wind wasnt blowing and I figured we could row back if we had to (I have pin lock setup for rowing oars) and I had cash if we need to "Bribe" those guys if we realy needed a tow and we stayed within 5 minutes of the launch.
