Hey Fellas,

I am thinking of trying Amador soon and wanted to see if I could get some clarification on the fees they charge. If I were to take my son would I have to pay the day use fee of $10 and two fishing fees of $8ea which would make my total to be $26. Am I correct in this or am I as usual quite confused?

Loaded question, try again.. Just joking, don't take me seriously.

Actually how far do you have to drive to get there? If it's close then yes it's worth it. If you're driving 4 hours for one day's fishing then I would find something closer. That said I'm thinking about heading over there because I'm bored with my local lake right now. Maybe I will and maybe I won't be if I'm driving 4 hours because I want to fish I'm not worrying about the 26.00 when I'm spending 200.00 in fuel.

+1 big one and pdgs. Amador has always been well worrh for me when i have the extra cash to spend. But like big one said if ya know how to fish it or you will end up being like 90% the ones i hear say amador sucks to expensive small fish lakes small its low its dirty and so on.

Well, it's just over an hour away so reasonably close. Bout the same distance from Rollins for me and a little closer than Collins lake. As to knowing how to fish it since I've just taken up fishing for the first time since I was a kid I hardly know how to fish let alone how to fish a specific lake! LOL!! Any tips that any Sniffer cares to share would be greatly appreciated. I'd like to get my success rate up so I can keep my boy interested in going with me.

Amador is known for its trout but that little lake has a good population of crappie, some big ones as proof in the above photos. It also has some monster bass, my son took a 14 1/2 pounder out of it (the pic may still be up in the store), this is primetime for the big bass in Amador, they are tuff to catch but are there. Also big catfish. Other options in that lake besides trout this time of year.

If you go a lot it can be kinda pricey. If you know what you're doing you will definitely catch some nice trout.

I'll most likely be going back some crappie.
