Headed down to the moke after work a couple days ago, just to get out of the house. I didn't feel like getting too serious on the boulder hopping so I decided to try out some easy spots. I got there a bit too early for prime time, but what the heck, I just wanted to get a line in the water.
As I figured, the bite was real slow.I did manage to catch a few little shaker rainbows though. I was suprised to even catch a rainbow up in this part of the river, since it's dominated by browns. I could only give it a couple of hours to fish since I'm up at 3:00am every morning to go to work.I did spot a couple of real nice browns in the 18-20" class, but I'm sure they seen me long before I saw them. they wouldn't even budge out of the seam they were holding in. Lets see if I can get a few picture to work for me.

O you betcha. On this very trip, I saw a fat 3 footer crawling across the road on the way down.

The river is getting so overgrown with brush that it's getting almost impossible to toss a good fly out there. I grew up fly fishing this river, but unless you get right out in the middle of the river, a roll cast is about it.

pics are too obvious lol. last year that spot didn't really produce for me as in the previous years. water looks good now but with no snow im not sure how long those flows will last. when they drop the flows that stretch of the river becomes pretty slow and skinny. too bad you didn't hook into one of those fatties. those big browns are smart there and you have to get lucky. nice report!!
