I was just curious after taking some out of the freezer to cook last night. Have anyone tried using the head on shrimps bought from the supermarket as bait for either catfish, stripers, or sturgeons? They look like they'll work because the head, tail, and legs are still on. Only bad thing is that they are dead and won't move like a live one. LOL. Oh and what kind of shrimp are they?

I use the raw prawns for cats all the time. No head or legs on em. Even got some stripers on them last year. And if your hungry while your out throw a few on the BBQ lol

Fish on!

LOL. That's my problem....I would rather eat the prawns and shrimps then use them as bait. LOL

Almost any fish will eat shrimp. Prawns for cats and striper. Smaller shrimp for trout and gills.

They work for striper and catfish...that's for sure. For sturgeons? I don't have that much confidence in it.
