Here are a some pics from the last handful of outings. Yesterday the jerk bait bite was HOT!

Smallie caught on a wacky rigged worm.

My first bass ever out of Folsom Lake.

Woolybuggin got a kayak and already has caught some nice fish out of it, but don't let that fool you, he's still learnin' lol

Michelle with her first trout ever.

Caught a few this size yesterday.

Jerk bait trout.

I had a bunch of other pics - and some were of some good sized trout - but my camera got wet yesterday while I was rushing to get my net to land a fish. Bummer. I'm going to see if I can salvage the images on the SD card... fortunately I bought the 2 year warranty for the camera.

Please no PMs for locations. People have recently asked, stating they'll C & R but then they post pics of nice fish they keep and "homie don't play that". All fish caught and released

Awesome pics as usual man. Good idea on not sharing that gem of a spot with anyone. You know as soon as you do, it'll be covered in old leader material, chip bags and 99 cent cigar packages like every other blown up spot.

You're fishing a jerk in a stream environment though? How effective is it compared to just tossing in line weighted spinners? It seems like a jerk bait would just be swept downriver too quickly. Then again...it's been a long while since I've hit a trout stream or river so what do I know.

I tried spinners and got a lot of follows but nothing committed.

I got a huge take down on a jerk bait within the first 20 casts but it shook free. I caught one pictured below, and lured some bad mama jamas later in the afternoon. On my way back to the car I crouched behind a boulder and did a long cast, making super erratic jerk motions. I made the lure STOP and WHAM I had a nice 15 incher on which I lost within seconds. I always upgrade my trebles to OWNER trebles but I'm considering going a size up if it doesn't effect the action.

I rarely use spinners on big water, but ALWAYS use them on skinny water like the carson or the south fork by kyburz. Down lower jerkbaits are the way to go.

Thank you for not sharing those spots. Like you, I've put in my time and hiked long distances to find awesome fishing spots on the same rivers you fish and I think it's better that other people should do the same. Good work on those fish!
