View Full Version : Relaxing at Collins

Went out on Wednesday to Collins lake. Been having personal issues here lately and just needed to get away from everything/ everyone for the day. Didn't care too much about the fishing. Just felt good to be out on a beautiful day with my best friend and nobody to bother me. Lol

Lines in the water around 11 am. Top lines rapalas for about an hour for 2 small fish. Switched it up an toplined a spoon on one rod and did a flasher crawler combo on the other. Spoon got bit first. Pulled in another small fish. Dropped it back out and as I was letting out the line the other pole gets hit. So I clicked the bail on the first pole over and started reeling it in. Look back over and the other pole had a fish on too!!!! Had to reel em in one at a time (baybees not a whole lot of help in these situations.) the worm pole had yet another small trout on it. The spoon however I realized had a nice fish on. Guessing he was 3-4 lbs but I lost him after a long battle trying to get the net around him.

Continued with these setups for a few hours, only getting small ones.

Switched it over and trolled a wooly bugger for my final hour and landed a few more fish including a nice 2 lber.

Called it quits when the sun went down.

All fish were realeased unharmed. Didn't take all the pics I normally do, was more focused on relaxing lol. I did manage a few scenic shots of the lake as well as a pic of the final 2 lber I brought in which was the biggest fish landed of the day.
