Best buddy is back in town from overseas and we are going to hit up Del Valle and see what we can see. Its been pretty lousy for me there recently, hopefully its better today. Continually going during a full moon is NOT helping but who cares, its fishing.

Report and pics later.

Left a little later than hoping at 645. Had to make the obligatory stop at McD's for a "healthy" breakfast.

Breezed right through to the lake and on the water by 8:10. Tooled around a bit looking for baitfish and just decided to join the crowd between the harbor and East Beach.

Boat next to us was hooking up left and right, gave a thumbs up and asked what was hitting....rainbow power bait. As much as I hate to use PB I had to do it. My buddy had some rainbow and I had gulp worms and power eggs in various colors. Threw out orange egg/gulp worm/ orange egg. Within two minutes first fish was in the net. My buddy was strictly using rainbow and I was mixing it up with slightly less success. Even got one with a panther martin on my 2lb ultra light. Released 8 and kept our limits to take home for family and neighbors.

Limited out (10 fish) by 930 but did not keep #10 till we were done with trout.

Headed over to the damn to look for stripers after #10 but no luck, nothing on the graph even.

Gonna try and take the kids next week or this weekend to get in on the action. Bite did slow drastically by 915 though.

Tight lines

Great job. I fished the east beach this past weekend and did great; released like 14. Caught a few on rainbow pb with some hatchery dust.
