Stayed at Lawsons landing monday through today and just about every boat fishing "right" caught and landed halibut. Fishing from hog island out to ten mile beach to point reyes. Basically the halibut fishing in Tomales is at the beginning of the peak time. Most guys i spoke to said its been the best fishing they've seen in a number of years with quality numbers and quality size of fish. One guy i spoke to said he caught ten halibuts last week during the minus tides. The red rock crabbing on the other hand is simply absolutely crappy. We went there with the intentions of bagging our limits of crab and we've never had such a bad trip ever. Pulling empty to near empty nets each time. well- cats outta the bag- halibuts at tomales is hot.
