We know that Catfish, in general, including saltwater catfish, use their powerful sense of smell during the dark hours to hunt for food. Detecting pH changes is something newly discovered in marine catfish. Was wondering if this is also true for freshwater species of cats. This would make marine catfish an excellent 'canary mine' species to study ocean acidification.
