View Full Version : Crock Pot Pulled Pork - Original

We had this for our Memorial Day meal along with my potato salad.

3 lbs pork butt or shoulder
1 can swanson chicken broth
2 cloves of garlic
Salt & pepper to taste
1 sliced onion

Add all ingredients in the crock pot and then place the meat on top.
Cook on high for 1 hour and then reduce to low for another 8 hours.
Remove meat from crock pot and fork shred, separating fat. *
Empty fat and juices from crock pot.

Sauce:
1 cup of Sweet Baby Ray's Hickory/Honey BBQ Sauce
1 handful of brown sugar
1/4 cup of apple juice

I like the meat moist but not over powered with sauce.
If you like more sauce, you can double the above ingredients.

Put mixed sauce in crock pot and add shredded pork. *Cook
For approx. another hour or two on low.

Serve on soft rolls with sliced onions and pickles. *Coleslaw or
Potato salad makes a good side dish.

Pork and Sweet Baby Ray's... hard to go wrong with that combo. That's the kinda dish I like to make a big batch of and when I'm sick of eating it at home I divvy up into meal size portions, pull out my trusty Food Saver, and bag for fishing trips... especially the fishing trips I come off the water after dark, hungry and desperate for something quick and tasty to eat. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Man that sound great you and your slow cooked pork meals are driving me nust i can still taste the carnitas from the NM trip yumyum. I do the same thing as you but just sear the meat and cover with a BBQ sauce thinned out with apple cide viniger, and let the thing go on low all day while i'm at work. Man it's so good. I think i'll try yours out next week.
