Walmart sells the Smokey Mtn propane smoker for 98.00, this is a good smoker. I use a charcoal smoker but a lot of people don't like tending the fire so they go propane or electric. If you do a search there should be several posts on this subject already.

Check out the recipe board. There is some great threads on Smokers as well as the "how to smoke threads."

I have an Elec."little chief" and I love it-my only regret was not getting the larger one..It works good for my needs-I only smoke fish in it-any jerky I make I do in a dehydrator

I can't remember the name but I have one like a Brinkman. It has a very good adjustable electric coil, the water basin is great to keep it cool and a temp gauge is a good idea to have

I manage a BBQ restraunt and you cant beat an all wood smoker. We have a variety of different kinds in the company, all wood and gas assist. Convieniece of the gas assist is great if we need to cook brisket over night, but the best flavor comes from the all wood smokers. I have been lucky enough to take over the smokers for a few hours for my catch and it has turned out great!!

With that said my bud has a little chief and we have produced some good product out of it. The brine is the key!
