You tube thresher rodeo, it says it all! Look for mackerel schools between Pacifica to bodega, last year was insane. Just please use appropriate gear that is required to land the bigger models 10ft, 150lbs. It's not cool to have a fish spool you to only die in 300-500ft of loose line stuck to it. I hope this helps

Btw, they are amazing eats also, better than all others imo, mako being second. Not at all comparable to leopards, 7 gills, soupfin, dog shark, think the texture of fresh tuna mixed with a flavor of something white sea bass ish. Bleed aNY thing you are going to keep immediately after landing, keeps the quality super awesome.

I was wondering this the other day. I have only caught small leopards and a ton of small rays. I got this big 4/0 senator, & I want to pull some drag on it. Watching those videos of guys in Texas catching monster sharks off the beach got me thinking I want to try that here, but I don't think we have the same kind of sharks they do. The big white ones here you're not allowed to fish for

I watched a youtube video of a guy catching a thresher of the pacifica pier so should be able to find them from a boat I'm thinking.... Threshers look fun!!! Might target them the first trip out of the gate. Lots more investigating to do. All I know is I need to go fishing!!!
