View Full Version : Some honduras advice?

Okay guys here is another one of my travel threads. This summer I'm headed down to honduras for the love of science.... And fishing lol. Doing a two week bio expedition down there. One week in the mountains and one on the coast. My resort is on the beach of Tela and I will have plenty of time to fish. I can find a bunch of pages on fishing honduras but they are all on the rotan islands. So not much info on the main land. Not 100% sure what species I will have access too but here is what I plan to bring.
Saltwater pencil poppers, kast masters, swimbaits, rip baits, rattle traps, sabiki and hooks and lead for live or dead bait.
I'm still searching for a rod I can take down there but reels will be some bait casters with braid for the heavier stuff and a spinning reel with some light mono for the lighter. And i will probably end up buying some Flouro too.
Any tips or insights on what species I could catch helps. I know this is a long shot but worth a try
