Fished Lake Camanche with John Brassfield in his 18' Duckworth. Launched at North Shore at about 7 am. A guy at the docks was raising the docks because the water was coming up! We trolled the narrows for about 2 hours with no takes. Trolled out of the narrows and had a double hook up -- on a matched pair of 2 1/2 pound crappie! 1 took a speedy shiner, the other a rapala!
Headed down to the dam, and the bite finally came on about 12:30 -- thank you full moon. The first fish was a dandy, about 8 pounds caught on a german brown speedy shiner 10 feet deep and 3 mph. We caught 4 more trout in the hour, and ended the day about 3 pm with 7 trout and the 2 crappie. German brown and red/bronze speedy shiners trolled on the surface and down to 10 feet did the trick. Got a couple on brass/red Excel spoons, and the last fish of the day on a red dot frog speedy. The other trout were all 16 to 18 inches and fat. Water temp was 56 to 58 degrees and a little murky.
