Today is my Dad's Birthday so I took him to his favorite lake. Lake Camanche. Launched from the North shore at
6:02 am and headed to Big Hat. Lines in and fishing at 6:18 am. Tied on four Captain Ken's Slim Fast spoons and
speed up to 1.8 mph. First fish came on the Prism color at 7:28 am. The bow was the biggest of the day at 21 inches. Next up at 8:47 am came a 19 incher and it fell for the same lure. Next up at 10:10 am Dad got another at 18 inches. This one fell for the Crush glow color. Last fish of the day came at 10:58 am right before pulling lines to go home. The fish also fell for the Crush glow Slim fast. Seems the best area was in front of the spillway. Lots of bait balls and marked a lot of fish. No scent was used and also used a long 120 ft set back. Talked to a few other boats and they where struggling. Seems they had a fish a boat.

Great way to spend a day with your dad. Nice report. Out of curiosity how deep were you fishing? Last couple times at Camanche I used speedy shiners and caught them between about 30' and 35'. Usually this time of year I'd be down 50'

Dang one thing I left out. LOL... 27 and 30 ft. Marked a ton of bait around 50 and 60 ft. Tried those depths but no luck. With the water 75 degrees you'd think they would be deeper but nope. :disturbed:
