We decided to check out NM while there was a break in the weather. Got to the UPPER Tuttletown ramp and got ready by 7:00. We were really searching for kokes so we were doing a slow troll today.

We started north of shipwreck (which is 65 feet under water) and worked our way over the entire main lake. We stayed well under 2 mph, used corn, and were watching for pods. We saw several schools of something but no love. We had to check the rods often because of the weeds and grass floating on the surface. You also have to watch the big logs floating around!

We headed down the west side and suddenly Daegan (the labra/wiener dog) starts whining and barking. He does this when a rod starts bouncing so we were looking frantically at the rods. I realize he is looking at the bank so I look. There is a big mature bob-cat running along the bank. It was visible for several seconds but not long enough to get the camera...beautiful critter!

Not too much longer and my chrome apex pops and it is fish on...sort of...I manage to boat about a 14" spotty and then relese it.

We tried pretty much the whole main lake from 7-54 feet deep with bugs, spinners, apex, hootchies, mag-tackle micros and everything koke...finally I have a fish on my copperpop and boat a 15" bow...that's why this is on the trout page. That was it for the day. Slow troll with corn and kokanee gear in the main lake for 1 bass and 1 bow.

A beautiful day on the water with my best friend and fishing partner but no kokanee!

See you out there,
Tortuga

Whoops, my mistake...that was Daegan watching for the fish. Mocha is the red/white Border Collie & she was sleeping behind the seat!

We had the same results a week ago. Also trying to target the kokes, I had a bunch by this time last year.
