So my cousin and I get the notion to do a lil catfishing Monday night with a quick call at the job with the "24 hour flu" we're on our way. we show up to the lake at lets say 730 pm. 745 the very first strike of the day nice and rude interupts our conversation and trash talk my bobber flies up....missed fish. >:( then around 800-815 my cousin who had casted only about 10ft to the left gets slammed and rewarded with a nice 5lb kitty. after rebaiting and a cigarette (yes smoking is bad but a lil frustrated at that point) i move a little ways down.....BAM bobber goes up again....no fish >:( i give it a minute to see if hes coming back and....HE DOES woohoo fish on! crazy part about the bite was i had my line in hand removing my bobber to check the bait. so now we are at one a piece and im feeling pretty good besides the fact that my fish only weighed in at 3 lbs.. 915 my cousin (on fire tonight) gets slammed again Fish on! a nice struggle and with a shake of a tail M.I.A shakes the hook.. now for the excitement 940 my cousin AGAIN >:( hooks up this time we get a glimpse of the 6lb cat scootin around as fast as that tail can kick...the kitty has taggled up every pole around it and ther is about 3 different poles bending from the fish. so i go to net the fish and im feeling like :D from the adrenaline as to not loose the fish and :'( I do...but there is a devine intervention...the catfish wrapped its tail around another line and is somehow tangled up..so we go fix the tangle and i feel a strong tug..is he?!?!?! YUP pulled the kitty on up and that sums up the night.. pics to come...QUARRY has done it again..oh yea and our boys got one a piece which would make a total of 5 for the night not bad for a lake we're just learning

Cool story M and M! Hope to see some pics. I only fished that lake once for about 1 hour with my daughter and didn't have any luck. I would not have thought to try marshmallow with salmon eggs. I think I remember hearing marshmallow and anchovies for that lake once.

HAHAHA....I dont mind sharing on here but when people at the spot ask we tell em salmon eggs and pink marshmallows....1 guy last night was about to go up to his car to get some when he smelled our bait bucket and laughed....

So far we havnt had any luck fishing that place during the day. Right as the sun goes down is when the bite gets going. I remember reading a post on here that kokedealer posted a while back about fishing from a boat and getting a nice stringer full....

The only problem with our little honey hole is once you have more then 6 poles in the water things get real tight. The weeds seem to be an issue as well fishing in the somewhat shallow water.

I think the trout have been extremely active at night too.......last night there were some pretty big splashes close to the dock. The cove is pretty protected from the wind and you could see them surfacing and swimming along the top of the water.

F_M if you go out this weekend, shoot me a PM.
