I've been trying to catch cats out of sonoma all summer and have only gotten a couple bites. I was using chicken liver on a sliding sinker rig in about 15ft of water.I tried around both launch ramps.(from the shore) Am I fishing at the wrong depth or could it be my location? I have a boat if thats what it takes to catch'em. Any help would be greatly appreciated :).

Try a spot where there is perhaps a stream or inlet feeding water into the lake. These spots usually hold a ton of baitfish and forage for a vast majority of the fish in the lake. Maybe try using mackeral, anchovies, or sardines as well.

Thanks a bunch staybent! I will try the creek inlets next weekend. So is 15ft a good depth to try or should I try deeper?

I dont catch many cats in deeper waters, so I would say 5-20ft should be sufficient. Good luck!
