Weve been skunked the last 4 times weve been out there. The anglers edge paper you get at the kiosk says they have been hitting early in the am. Was there at 615 this am, fishing from the same spot we usually go to that produces for us and didnt get anything. Moved over to fishermans row and didnt get anything their either. Best bite has been from 8pm up until about 10. Ill probably go back tonight to see if I can redeem myself.

Its $5 to park and $4 for fishing permit....But we usually park down the street and walk in saving the $5....I live 5 minutes away from the lake so were there pretty much every other day....Just finished up dinner and gonna head back over there now to see if i can get anything....the bite is usually good from about 8-10.....

I was there Sunday morning (8/17) at 6:00am and fishing by 6:10 and got SKUNKED. I definitely saw a lot of trout, but they weren't biting.

I saw the weirdest thing too...5 fish (black, white, black, white, black IN THAT ORDER!) were circling around about 3 times before they dove back into deeper water...it was the weirdest thing, like when you go to see a marine show and the dolphins swim in a circle following each other!

Were is quarry lake just out of curiosity (sp)?

Gsw is correct, its right on the fremont UC border.....do a google maps for isherwood street in fremont.

You can only fish in rainbow and quarry west of the bart tracks. The others you will get fined for fishing in. The little pond between los osos and shin will have you in jail.

To the east of the bart tracks is shinn and what we call the mud hole.
Shinn has stripers from what the old guys tell us, cats and some LMB. The east side of shinn is extremely windy but produces decent cats....buts its really weedy as well. We usually get to the pond from the park on montecito dr. backs to the wind there but the banks are steep.
The mud hole is good for carp. the dock off of school st is where most of the people fish from. been there a few times and got skunked. we were there about 3 weeks ago and there had to be at least 200+ baby large mouth swimming around the dock. they were probably in the 2-4" range.....waters real dirty and im guessing pretty stagnent since it just sits there....and doesnt get much fresh water through it....
