Jetspray and I decided two spend two more days enjoying the epic bite on Topaz Lake. We fished at the inlet looking for a temperature band of 60 degrees or less. We were fishing in 8 to 10 feet of water. For the 2 days we had 25 fish to the boat with that many more missed or snapped off. The majority fish came on Gulp with a couple coming on worms. Nothing really big but many in the 2# - 3# class. The lake level is starting to drop and flows into the lake are shutting down. Don't know if I'll get back to Topaz before it closes at the end of September. Next week starts my favorite time of the year. Heenan and Pyramid reopen, The rivers are much less crowded and full of fish. But I have to say that Topaz this year has been very good to me. Thanks for the ride Dave.

We again fished much the same way that we did last week, that is we anchored the boat in open shallow water (jet boat, no prop, only need 3 feet to navigate the pump intake/nozzle). We had command of the entire waterway in front of us. My boat has a front swivel seat with a riser to 30 inches of height and a platform to up a umbrella (manta spread type with angles and movement for the sun). Richard opted not to use it so I attached another point on the back to have shade. I also have sun shades available and towels to hang for real hot weather. It was all good, and I even managed a few with worms just to see how they were biting them. Next couple of weeks the outlet will be the place to anchor up and toss bait. There were a few fellas catching some nice one's using blades and worms. Richard talked to one fella who has been fishing the lake since the 70's and he stated that this was the best year he had seen the lake that full and river running that high this late in August. For us I know it was and worth the trip:Gone_fishing::fish_jumps:........Jetspray
