Late post but had to get it out there. Buddy and in went on our second annual Frenchman's Pyramid trip. Epic for us.

Usually get 30 + this time a year at Frenchman's but only managed a limit and kept two 17" era for a BBQ at Pyramid that evening. Wind never materialized but the water was a dark tea brown which I had never seen up there. Lots of 10"-12" fish. Did they plant? Weddingrings and a worm worked but threw the tackle box at them.

Got out to Pyramid and our fantastic rented RV Sunday eve. First boat on the lake Mon Tues Wed and landed 32, 29 16 (1/2 day) respectively and easily lost just as many if not more. Almost all were caught between Warrior and Monument at 15'-20' around 2.6 with Shasta spoons. A rainbow pattern and a burnt orange & red spoon were our two winning spoons. Buddy lost one at the boat that easily went 10#. I C&R'd a 8#er on the last day to finished the trip. Lots of doubles and triples. All four days and two lakes the water was flat. Seriously weather & fish blessed

Well done my friend! We fished the same area last week and had about the same results. Nothing over 24 though. Were you running the spoons with weight or without?

Thanks for the report. It sounds like you had plenty of action at both lakes. Were there may fly fishermen at Frenchmans?

We ran the spoons on two rods with three colors of lead core. These far out fished the outside rods which were on downriggers 15-20'

As for Frenchman's, no fly fishermen at all. Only saw two other boats on the lake.

The weather for the next 8 days is forecast as flat and calm with summer like days. I'm just saying... I'll be there Tuesday and Wednesday for sure. Friday I'm heading to Eagle Lake I think.

Thanks for the info. I haven't run lead line at Pyramid yet. We were using 2 oz. of lead with our spoons and we did 40+ fish in the same area.
