In summer time, the Oakland Alameda estuary waters are full of shiner perch and rubberlip perch. Any time I put bait in I start to get bites. But now in winter time, it is as if they have all disappeared. Does anyone know the ecology of these supposed to be resident fishes?

IDK about their Ecology but we only fish for them in the winter when other species are slow in the bay and have done very well in the Richmond area for past several seasons.Think they close at the end of the month (rubberlip anyways).
