Finally put the boat in some water yesterday (since last November salmon season) in nearby Folsom Lake. Water temperature was 48F, water wasn't too stained and ready to catch fish. Weather between all these storms was near perfect and maybe a dozen or so trailers in the Granite Bay parking lot. Headed up the North Fork around 9 a.m. to just up near the S.S. Relief. Marked many bait balls with good sized fish within but could not get them to pay any attention to any of the multitude of lures I tried. So although we didn't have the planned trout dinner it was a beautiful day to be out there. Perhaps another try is in order soon.

I launched out of Browns Ravine last Sunday(3/3). Trolled my way to the South Fork, but turned around when the water clarity dropped and I encountered surface debris. After four hours of trolling, I ended up with two trout about 14" each. I was top-lining a speedy shiner with an inline weight at 3+ mph when both fish hit.

Folsom is an enigma.

I know it well and henceforth it shall now be called "Enigma Lake". Thanks Legal.
