I havn't gone in a couple of weeks but have fished the Sutter Bypass several times this summer and have knocked them dead every time. This summer so far I'm averaging 10lbs a Channel Cat. Each trip I catch and release between 3 and 5 Cats. I've been fishing out there for some 15 years or so and this year has been best for decent size cats. In the past it's been a bunch of small ones around 2 to 4 lbs. This year the Mitten Crabs don't seem to be all that bad eather. Some years in the past it was hard to keep bait on your hook for more than 5 minutes without them eating it.

Happy Fishin,

Almost makes you want to set crab traps and thin them suckers out a bit, huh?
We have had the same problem in the past in the DWC in the past. Cast out, never feel a bite, crank in to check your bait, and it's bare hooks! We did manage to catch two of them, and they are a handful, to say the least, to get off the hook and kill them. ;)
