Hi ya'll, well planning on doing some shad fishing this summer, have always caught a few by accident but want to target them this year, what would be the best sizes and colors and kinds of jigs/darts should I get to get started and how do you fish them? Will be fishing the American and Feather. Thanks, Murph

1/32 oz. jig heads with 1 inch grubs and some split shot 18' to 20' above the jig

... you can also fish`em under a float. Cotton candy pink has been an especially deadly color for the American River. And those 1" champagne pink Shad Attacks with the glitter that DD has pictured ...pretty much the American River standard -solid producers. Plain, hot pink, chartreuse, or white lead head ...the color doesn't seem to matter, but size does. 1/32oz will always get you more bites ...just make sure you use quality hooks, because Mr. Shad loves to bend them straight!
