I expect the real secret is how much money these folks are making!

I've been using submersible lights for years, they work. I make my own and they cost maybe 15$+ to make and don't wear out. Mine are made with 25ft of cable as I lower mine down 20ft when I fish. The only ones I replace are the ones my friends borrow and want to keep :P. If anyone is interested I'll make a little picture display showing all components necessary, as they are very simple to make. The last trip to New Melones was just like that video the light was covered in baitfish.

Can you use these things from the bank? How do you make em Kevin? I would like to make one myself. I know lights do work in salt water. The attract bait and bait attracts fish!!

You are right about that Kevin, I have dropped lights in Melones and the baitfish that show up are a real sight!

That would be great if you could provide instructions on how to build the light

Lol, you could always buy those massive glow sticks that are like a foot long. They'd probibly work just as good, and no battery needed.

Yea, I would like to see how that light is made. They want to charge to an arm and a leg for thier design.

lets see it. I use floating lights but always like to make my own stuff when possible and cost effective. ;)

Check these out. They're not for fishing but I'm pretty sure they'd work. http://extremeglow.com/Merchant4/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=15

The green magnet works in and out of water...you can also use them as dock lights. There are also other brands out there, such as Optronics that are quite affordable. I will be using mine at Lake Powell for stripers in a few weeks. I used them growing up and fishing for trout with my parents in the Colorado River (Lake Mojave). Trust me...they work like a charm...no gimmicks here.

There are a couple of other threads regarding the subject of night lights in the Trout Board on pages 2 & 3. One is called "fishing night light" and the other is called "homemade submerisable light for $15". Both threads have good information on this subject especially if you want to make your own lights!

I've used store bought submerisable lights to fish at New Melones and have caught some nice fish using them. It is amazing to see all the bait in the water especially when you bring your lights up to the top of the water. It looks like a little tornado with all the minnows swimming around the lights!

There's a light in Bass Pro shop that looks like the evening secret except its only 24 inches. But its only 20 bucks i think.
