so how does that work, do you need attachment for it or do you balance your pole just on that?

I copied Jethrofsn's design. *Look towards the left of this pic. *BTW I'm reeling in a Sturgeon that tipped the rod down while on the balancer. *
BTW I also made lanyard that's attached via "D" ring on each rod so it wouldn't drop into the drink.

Hey Jason,
You might want to check out Ron's rod holder.

You sinker in the water keeps tension on the tip and the pole butt balances it place. *At home, take one of your rod and put a sinker on the end of the line. *Cast out away then place your rod on anything that has and edge (that's your fulcrum like on a "see-saw")...balance the pole on that edge. *Got it?
Now as for the high winds, it becomes a little challanging but do-able *;)

Fish Hookers balancers are the finest to be had in my opinion. They look great, last forever and over the many years Captain Barry has used them he has never lost a rod....In the delta fishing out of a balancer is the way to go for sturgeon and stripers....heck I even use mine while trout fishing with bait.....Cal Kellogg

Bill and myself have been giving these custom ones a trial run. They swivel as well as balance.

*I'm with Tone. I tried out the Redi-set system that Ron has (I wish I would have come up with it) and was pretty impressed with how they indicated "the bite", how they worked in rough water and a very fast "hook-set". Anywho... *I re-rigged both my boats with 'em and my 3 fishing buddies are all in gear with the set-ups.
*And... *Debbie and Ron are fast to get 'em to ya. Good people. *http://buoy33.com/
*Tell 'em, we sent ya...
