Never banked it from the power lines but there always seems to be quite a few people there. If they didn't catch fish from the bank I would think there wouldn't be so many people. Give it a try. Good luck!!

I've never banked it either, but I also see lots of people there. I used to put in at the Sherman Island launch. The road that leads to the launch goes right along the river and there is always people there. Good luck.

A while back they put up a bunch of "No Parking" signs all up and down the road along the waterline. If you can find a parking spot, you can definitely get into some fish. I would recommend a longer rod, and thinner line so you can cast further. Make sure you have a long handle net for landing.

Good luck out there.

I normally fish this area during the spring and have had luck in the past. However you should make sure that you have enough weights. This area is kinda snaggy.

BTW, your set up is perfectly fine.

12- 16 oz's is a LOT of weight man. I've fished it a few times before but never after so much rain. might take the boat. supposed to be windy and rainy. have a 19 foot open bow with a bimini. might rig so visqueen plastic to hide out from wind and rain. might bank fish if it is too nasty don't know.

noo way...25# test line...i dunno how you guys bank fish, but i bank fish for sturgy all the time, normally at hood, use 12 ft ugly stick with 100lbs test power pro wit 10oz minimum...sometimes i use 12-14 oz, bank fishing for sturgy is not the same as fishing for sturgy in a boat, its a lot harder to land a sturgy from bank, strong rod like ugly stick like 12-15ft is a must, and if your using mono line, 50#...or braid 80# and plus...good luck.
