Nice! I cant even see the splicing. 8-)

CC - I downloaded all your panos so I could view them full screen with better zoom and smoother panning than the browser allows.

"Cow Land" is my favorite while viewing the whole image in full screen. "W. Walker River" I like best when I zoom in to fill top to bottom then pan back and forth. Almost makes me feel like I'm there deciding where to put my cast to work the current and hook the BIG one! ALL great shots tho! Very fitting subjects for panorama treatment. Can't wait to see Caples, Silver and Red Lakes.

Cow Land was taken where Buckeye Creek crsses US 395 just north of Bridgeport. I always thought that if I were a cow this is where I would want to be on a summer's morning. I wouldn't want to know about rib eyes or hamburger and such. I think I'll play with vertical stitching now.

I really like your W.Walker pic. Nice work!

Looking for some free tools to 'stitch' and found these guys - http://www.clevr.com/.

Ever use these? *I'd like to try something that will make good pano shots but not have to buy an expensive tool like PS...

BTW, nice shots CC!

IE or other browsers certainly aren't the best way to view this kind of stuff.

06-24-2009, 09:14 PM
I dont like any of them ! I love them all !

HD View is another Microsoft innovation that uses "ICE" related technology. *It's a online viewer for specialized panoramas including MONSTER gigabyte sized image files assembled from multiple exposures. *Panning not only 360 degrees horizontal, but also up and down ... like you're inside a globe. *Pretty amazing stuff.

I just downloaded and installed the special HD View plugin and have been looking at a few smaller panos. *It takes a quick web connection to make it work well as a large amount of data has to be transfered ... *like playing video.

I quickly checked out a forum and saw a few comments about folks having trouble using HD View in Firefox. *For me on the new laptop IE v8 has worked well with HD View. *I haven't installed Firefox yet, but did install Google's Chrome to try out. *I had trouble getting the Flash plugin installed on Chrome so will not even try HD View.

You can find more info and samples here. *

CC - Another unique and nice one to add to my collection! Thanks for posting it.

Seems many of your contributions here have been lost. Everywhere I look July posts seem to have vanished. This forum's become quite frustrating.

CC - "March of the Clouds" is my favorite of these two because of the way the slight bit of light combined with heavy shadows on the nearby hillside work to sweep my eye toward the disappearing highway and magnificent distant vista. but both please my eye.

The fresh hay bales shot is also very nice.* Unique subject for a panorama and it works quite well.* I think the panorama effect can be played-up on this one by cropping a bit from both bottom and top.* Having said that I decided to see how it'd look, but alas I couldn't help but try other stuff in the new photo edit program I have on my laptop (Paint Shop Pro X).* Just noticed when looking at the image magnified a raptor of some sort sitting on one of the hay bales.* COOL!

Slim. I didn't fish there this day. I am going to give it a try on the 12th. The biologist was there. He said that this was the biggest opening day crowd he could remember. He also said that the lake and the cutts had a good year. Sounds promising. :)

CC - Another spectacular set. Although I love those snowy mountain scenics I've got to pick the Bass Pro Shop as my favorite. Seamed together very well which I'd expect to be especially challenging with all those people moving about. Nice shot! THANKS for posting them!

The Bass Pro Shop picture was actually taken and put together by my by my son with his new camera. Hew went out and got a black Friday deal on a Sony W220 camera. Downloaded ICE from Microsoft and started going nuts. My usual camera, a Sony W55 has bit the dust after 10,000 pictures. I'm down to my 6 MP W50 that has it's own set of problems. I'm waiting for another sale on the W220. The camera is 12 MP with a 4X zoom and takes astounding pictures.

When I was in LA over Thanks Giving I turned my son on to Panoramas. He went out and bought a Sony W220 and is getting into it. Here are some Pictures he took at Disneyland on 12/09/09.

WOW! Small World even put's Clark's (Chevy Chase's) "Christmas Vacation" house to shame for number of lights. Glad I don't have to pay THAT electric bill!

Who's that peeking out from behind the "L?" She someone you know? Interesting in the lobby shot as I zoomed in and panned across I spotted a pro photog's white umbrella on a stand near the Xmas tree. Always like your panos for the details I can zoom in on and check out.

I like 'em all, but "Small World" is my favorite.

Don't know why but Small World has always been my favorite Disney ride. Usually I can't get the song out of my mind for weeks after I go.
