I started playing around with the manual settings on my camera a couple days ago. It has been challanging, but very educational at the same time. I have barely scratched the surface but its a night and day differance from what I was use to. I was amazed how good a picture can look in the dark with no flash. The photos of my house were taken with almost zero light. I used a tri-pod with a long exposure and started my shutter speed at 1 second, and then went from there. The first picture I used HDR Merg and the others are exactly how they were captured onto my camera. I threw in a flower picture in Macro and my foo foo dog gone crazy ;D :D..

GREAT SHOTS! Like #1 house and #4, the flower close-up, the best ... and the foo foo dog ... well that one makes me wanna pinch my knees tight together! :D

Glad to see you giving the manual mode a good workout. That HDR technique might be of use for some of your waterfall shots that have a mixture of sun and shade.
