Chick, I always look forward to seeing you as well. The drive would have been 17 hours but I was stopped at a road closure on Highway 93. I had to wait for the fires to burn out along the highway to finish my mad dash. It took about 21 hours on the return trip.
Thanks again to all the fellow sniffers that made this such a great trip. I made some great new friends and got to link up with some old and treasured ones as well.
Thanks to Ben "Fort Bragger" for your hospitality at the Fort! I look forward to doing it again. I've never caught a squid on watermelon before. ;)
As always Tom (Rodney Dangerfish) your knowledge of fishing makes the whole thing a breeze! :D
Carlo, what can I say, buy a Salmon Rod! It's pretty tough to load a Sturgy rod in the rigger. ::)
Fishenrick, Mickey, Chico, Ron Rlammi, Rodney, Krzy, and all the rest of the Sniffers who have answered my PM questions, I really appreciate all of your help and posts to the boards.
To everyone that I met at the fest and shared great conversation, food, and company with, too many to name, Thank You very much!
I should say a special thanks to the state of Nevada for financing the trip. I ended up with about 1200 of their dollars from slots while I was heading down there.

I'm really looking forward to the next Salmon Slammin fest! The campground hosts are begging us to take every site next time! I guess we are welcome back.

Thanks to all!

Thanks for waking up enough to post up a couple of pic's MM :D That drive would kill me, it's hard enough for me to drive 4.5 hours to Bodega. Glad everyone had a good time, I'll do my best to make it next year :D Got my shirts from Dennis, thanks Freon for picking them up for me and getting them to Dennis 8-) very cool of you dude 8-) 8-)

Great finally meeting you MM. Did you keep the squid? How deep did you catch it?

07-20-2007, 05:51 AM
Donzi, I really wanted to have a beer with you. We'll do it next time.

Ivan, I snagged it in the tentacle with a watermelon apex. I caught it at 65 feet on the wire. ;D I didn't keep it because inking my boat wasn't tops on the list! *:o

07-20-2007, 06:41 AM
How was the fight? :D Did it take out drag? :D Boy, I bet that was a big suprise when you got it to the boat ;D

07-20-2007, 08:43 AM
It did make a couple of short runs and then flopped on the surface. ;D I thought I had sea weed until Ben announced we were hooked up on a Humboldt. :-? Then Ben dropped his leatherman pliers in the water trying to unhook it. :'( I really felt bad, but I did manage to get a pic! ::)
