A bunch of us are heading to Bodega Bay on Thursday afternoon through Friday. Sounds like the big fall run of Kings are starting to show.
They have been killing the Salmon in Fort Bragg the last few weeks, now they are starting to show up in Bodega.

Gotta go... ;D ;D

Hey somebody,

Doran beach camp sites are generally full this time of the year. But they usually have open spots at the west side camp and the ramp is right there as well. Also if they are full there are other sites available up the road.

If your taking your boat, then bring your tent. The one camp site thats about a mile away has a bathroom and showers. I think it was about 8 - 12 bucks for camping.

Good luck...Ron

Hey saltfisher,

I couldn't make it out today but I will be there tomorrow at around 6:30 AM... ;D ;D

Mickey and Hammer had two in the box after two hrs of trolling this afternoon. Jason B had two in the box and 1 around 25 lbs.

I'll give you a shout in the AM and if you don't here from me call me on Channel 77, also give Mickey a yell as well.

The last conversation I heard from Mickey was they were going to Troll from the Whistle buoy to jingle bells. They caught there fish north of the head at 20/6. Jason caught his fish down around Ten mile....

good luck tommorrow..Take care...

We had another awesome trip to Bodega on Friday... ;D ;D
The Salmon bite was good, lots of hook ups but with the size of these huge Kings right now we lost 4 over 20 lbs. My dad and I ended up with 3 Salmon, with 2 over 25 lbs.

About 1:00 PM we heading up to Fort Ross for some rock cod. As soon as we started fishing Hammer hooked into his 15 lb plus Ling and several other rockies....

Salmon were caught right at the north of 10 mile beach out in 60-70 foot of water. All the fish we caught were at 50 feet down on the wire, approx. 20-30 feet behind the ball.

We used green and white hoohies with an anchovies chaser.
behind a 11" and 8" hot shot green flashers...The leaders to the hoochies are 20" behind the flasher.

Great day and the water was excellent.... ;D ;D

I caught this one reeling in to check my bait when she slammed it... ;D ;D

My Dads king....

Sunracer and Hammers Lings...

Awesome combo Hammer, Salmon and a Ling over 20 lbs... ;D ;D

Mickey, Ron, Hammer, Jim

What can be said Great fishing and really good guys to fish with, Mickeys boat is the bomb it fishes SOOOO FINNNE, and Hammer you have the lings down to a science, we lost some very nice fish at the back of the boat, and every color we pulled caught fish, the action wasen't bad, not stellar though.

I hope to hook up with you guys in the future and thank you guys again , Mickey and Hammer for showing me a great time ;D

Gee I finally got to read Ron's report, it was a good time except for the 4-5 Salmon we lost at the back of the boat ??? All big ones too :'( The rock fishing was great, so much fish in the freezer I guess I need to invite some sniffers to a BBQ ;) Thanks Ron for showing us such a good time ;D and Sunracer got the stink off his "unlucky hat" 8)
