I am going fishing on Saturday in Bodega Bay. I may be getting a little ahead of myself but I was wondering if there was anywhere you can trade fresh salmon for smoked salmon in that area or anywhere between Bodega Bay and SF. Someone told me once that you could trade fresh salmon for smoked somewhere on a 2lb fresh to 1lb smoked basis. Is this true? Also, any help on where to do this would be much appreciated.

dollars to donuts, you won't find that deal.... :'( :-/
that would be an awsome deal....
I think it would be like 6-10lbs for 1lb....
at 27/37.00lb smoked and raw salmon goes for only 6.00lb..
I'm not being mean,, but if anyone know of a 2 for 1 deal
I'm in.... ;) :D

Yeah, you could easily buy Salmon for $6.00 per lb...
I would go buy a bunch too if anyone would make a 2 for 1 deal...

Buy a smoker...Walmart has one that will work if you don't have one...smoke your own! :)

Fish On!

I love Lox. I don't think you can make Lox from the smokers they sell at Walmart, Cabelas, or any fishing tackle stores. If there is a way, I'd like to know.

Or, better, and probably what you want...

Or..

You could make a good smoker from a trash can for about $50 at Home Depot...or any self-respecting hardware store...

Have fun!
