Almost any pier in the San Franciso bay would be good for halibut... Berkeley is one of them... Unfortunately the run has slowed down, but they are still caught... You'll just have to put in extra, extra time to get them...

- You can use almost any rod for them (freshwater-salmon-ocean-etc.)
- Line-wise use 8-20lb test (i use 15lb)
- Rigs:
* * Bobber Rig
* * Carolina Rig (use 1/2 oz - 1 1/2 oz)
* * Three Way Swivel Rig (a rig commonly used for drifting live bait)

This is just general info.... You can get more info on pier fishing at pierfishing.com

Try one of these:
Oyster Point Pier
Candlestick Point Pier
Fort Point Pier
Paradise Pier
