There are sturgeon pulled out of that pier often so go with the usual ghost/grass shrimp, herring, and I even heard them being caught on fillet sardines. Perch also hit over there too use a high low leader with some grass shrimp. Bring a snare or a net if you plan on landing a sturgeon or shark cause the pier is about 10-15ft above the water.

Sinker Slinger,

It's a good pier to fish from. However you need to hit the channel from the pier so use a surf pole because if you can't reach it forget it. Use 7/8oz sinkers as well because the tide can rip and your bait will bounce out of the action zone. I like using a standard sturgeon leader. Fishery Supply or Ly's Fishing Goods are great places to get live/fresh bait. and supplies.
