* ** ** Rattle Trap and Big Carl joined me for a LOOOONG day on Camanche. We where the first through the gate at the South Shore and launched in the dark at 6:14 am. Had all lines in at 6:42 and the first fish came at 8:28 am and was 14 inches. For the rest of the day it was long periods between fish. We stuck it out till Dark for our 15th fish to fill our 15 fish limit. Big Carl and Rattle Trap got there biggest trout of there lives at 4lbs and 6.9 lbs. The fish where 4,3,3.8,2.7,6.9,2.2,3.9,3.4,2.0,3.0 and 2.8 lbs. The small ones where 14,14,13 1/2, and 11 inches. The last fish came at 4:49 pm. We trolled all on top with grubs and Artic Fox Flies. We did try alot of other stuff that didn't work. Trolled at 1.9 to 2.2 mph. The side planers worked for about 90% of our fish. We pulled the boat out at 5:22 pm.

Well done, sounds like a long day but a fun day. You timed the weather well. Love BoF (Box of Fish) pic. Did any of the fish pop the release on the planner boards?

Sorry to say but none did. Not even the 6.9.

Frank and I fished the planer board on Friday and had no trouble at all popping the line out of the clip if there was a fish on the other end.

way to go kevin

Kevin, when our fish hit you could see the side planer jump. We'd reel down and thumb the spool and it would pop.

Thanks Dave, It would be nice if it'll release when the fish is hooked but I'll try you way next time.
