* ** * Rattle Trap joined me again for another troll on Camanche. We where again the first through the Gate at North Shore. Launched in the dark at 6:43 am. First fish came for Rattle Trap at 7:10 am and was 14 inches. Next fish where 2lb's, 2.5 lb's, 5.2lb's, 2.0 lb's, 2.4lb's, 2.0lb's, 1.1lb's, 2.3lb's, 3.0lb's, 13 inches, 2.5 lb's, and last 1.3 lbs. We also had 2 LDR'S. We ended up keeping 10 fish to fill our limit. We trolled grubs, J-Plugs, and Artic Fox Flies. Speed was 1.9 to 2.2 mph (gps). Everything caught on top.

Nice limit stick, Fishjunky. That's quite the hawg, Rattletrap!! The wind was a bit of a problem for us at first in our lighter boat. But, it settled down nicely. Good talking to you on the radio.

Dan I had the downrigger at 3 ft. The clip was just under the surface.

I knew someone would say something about the downrigger shot. ;) ;D

Nice stick FJ! We didn't do as well as you guys. Froggie missed one pretty early in the morning then she landed a 2lber then a 12 incher then a 12 incher all between like 8:30 and 10:00. Every thing she caught was on the gold/flourescent/red F9. I ran a firetiger J9 and a Bleeding copper flash...and just about every trout lure I use. I even tried a dodger/nightcrawler set-up. For nothing ........ until Fishjunky was leaving after 11:00. I finally landed a 2 lber on the bleeding copper. We quit fishing a little after 12:00 with the twin 2's.
See you out there

Was curious as to what you were doing , although I do use DRs , anything near the surface I don't use them . To me they are a necessary evil but a pain in the rear , especially when I have a guest who can neither control the boat or set the DRs ( which is most of the time ).

Dan_V: We use the down riggers to keep our third and fourth rod sepperated. Also if there is debris on the surface it helps to keep the lures free of anything that might get caught on the main line. I usually run them a little deeper, say like 5 to 7'. Good luck

Here's a shot of the 2 we brought home for dinner.

On the board & ready for the fillet knife:

In the sink...nice pink color:http://inlinethumb24.webshots.com/35927/2154452650067872317S425x425Q85.jpg (http://outdoors.webshots.com/photo/2154452650067872317yjmbFZ)

I also put this on the cook your catch thread:
I made a most delicious dinner with the 4 trout fillets. I asked Tortuga to skin them. Then I mixed up a marinade with cumin, chopped garlic, salt, pepper, brown sugar, wine & fresh oregano. Put them in a large ziploc with the marinade for about 2 hours. Then opened one of those small jelly jars of Mole & scooped out about 1/3 of it into a frying pan. Mixed up 2 cups water with 2 tsp of chicken bouillon & simmered it with the mole. It made a great mole sauce. Next I added the fillets, covered them & simmered for about 5-8 min. We warmed up some tortillas & had rice with it. Yummy.
