Looks like we are going to Almanor this year instead of Eagle due to the low water level. Does anyone out there have any info or web sites with info on cabin rentals in the area? Something like the Heritage web site for Eagle for example.

Thanks, CH

CH - here's a link to a regular report from a well known guide in the area and a house/cabin rental site:

http://www.almanorfishingadventures.com/fishing_report.html
http://www.vrbo.com/vacation-rentals/usa/california/shasta-cascade/lake-almanor

Good luck and save a few fish for those of us that can't get to the lake until October.

Thanks BDR, both web sites had the exact info we were looking for. I am now searching for an Almanor lake map that identifies the landmarks that are mentioned in some of the fishing reports that I have been able to find. For example The A-frame, Big springs, Bailey springs, Rec area#2, Powerhouse, Dorado Inn, etc.

Thanks again, CH

Try VRBO.com it is vacation rentals by owner. i have had great success with that site. Most owners will deal with you especially this time of year because something is better than nothing whe it comes to renting a cabin out.

Yea we are doing the boat thing. We (myself and five other buddies) have been going to Eagle in Nov. for the passed 16 years but, decided to try Almanor instead this year. The lake level and fish quality has reached an all time low at Eagle so it's time for a change. We will continue to donated to the project eagle lake program in hopes that at some point it will make a difference.

Never been to almanor, always wanted to go. Those are some pretty usefull sites right there. Gonna try to make a trip too. What is the best time to go up? Is it now, or should I wait a few more weeks?
