Fished friday for 2 dink smallmouth.Sat morning decided to try a little deep trolling for macks as I marked quite afew fish deep 80 to 120ft.It was rather windy and i had my line set rather deep in the release so I'm not sure when I actually picked up the 1st fish. The rod was bouncing a little funny(It was windy) so I release it and low and behold bring in a 17" mack from 85ft.For the next 2 hrs. I fight the wind and fish.1at 95ft and the rest at 105ft.6 macks to the boat biggest 18" kept 3 as they floated after release. 1 sdr. All caught on orange and white needlefish.Had a great time until the rain chased me http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/3312/menscampoutslypark005.jpg

When your fishing that depth you might as well just keep them unless you can manage express the air from their air bladder without stressing them too much.* The ones you released probably died.* Between the stress of the fight and coming up from that depth, they probably wont live.

They are best smoked in my opinion. If your going to cook them otherwise trim you fillet way down so there is very little stom, ach fat on the fillet. Don't use extra oil and dont over cook.

Good report!
