Fished Thursday and Friday at various Alpine County Lakes. Both days were beautiful. One day was better. :)

09/10/09- Picked up Jetspray in the Ranchos and headed first to Upper Blue Lake. Fished up from the shore from the Campground. Used Kastmasters and green Gulp. Nothing. Next we fished Red from the dam with with Gulp, Kastmasters and small plastics. Dave got one Brook on the KM. Finally to Caples where we fished the corner of the dam. I was again skunked while Dave got 2 small bows on green Gulp. The big guys continue to cruse the shallows but ignore what ever we offer them. :(

09/11/09- Picked up Dave and headed directly for Red. Going to to fish a little more seriously and meet some folks. Arrived at Red after a grueling 30 minute drive and started fishing the dam area. Didn't et the first fish until the sun started to turn the mountain red but it was a nice 21 inch LCT. Fellow members Chimp and his sister Skink arrived shortly that. There were brookies to be had this day. Jetspray caught a nice LCT and I hooked another LCT up by Cable Rock. Everyone had a blast. Dave as always it is great to hit the water with You. Mark and Patty it was nice meeting you and thanks for the birthday jigs.

PS. Patti and Mark left us around 10:00 and said they were going to give Caples a try on the way home. I've have just received an email from Mark saying that they did pretty good at Caples. Fishing up from the spillways they got brooks and bows and Patti caught a new PB Nebraska Bow of 8 pounds. :o Way to go Patti. Picture at end.

great report as usual! I went to Caples yesterday, caught and released lots of smaller bows, nothing of any size. worms trolled behind a flasher or a worm beneath a bobber seemed to be the flavor of the day. my FF was filled with fish when we tied to one of the floating balls in front of the dam. nice day to start out then it clouded over and rained on us.

It was great meeting the two of you. Thank you, Jetspray, for telling me the spots to fish on Red Lake and thank you, Richard, for all of your pm's regarding fishing in Alpine. We had a great time--caught a lot of brookies between Red Lake and Caples. I finally beat my PB of 5 llbs. Landing the 8 lber made my day. Looking forward to more fishing days with the both of you. Hummm ... can't see how to edit previous post ? ? ?

Anyway came back to say how I enjoyed zooming and paning across your Upper Blue Lake panorama. Nice zingy colors and detail. On the right side I can see four waterfowl of some sort ... ducks? I wonder if you could tell what they were? GREAT SHOT!
