View Full Version : Windy at Silver, but then...

Took my son and youngest grandson (8 yrs.) fishing at Silver yesterday, and when we arrived the wind was blowing strong with white caps out on the lake. We launched, and tried to stay out of the wind by sticking to the sheltered side of lake. We still bounced around quite a bit, but little Joey was a trooper, and didn't seem to mind. But then, after about an hour of this, the wind slowly died down, and we got down to some serious trolling. I can tell you the bite has not let up, and for the most part the fish are still near the surface, but as the day progressed, we added some weight and went a little deeper with some success. It was Joe's first time trolling, and he took to it like a champ. Many nice planters were caught, with a few slightly larger rainbows thrown in. Crawlers behind flashers seemed to do it, but once we stopped and threw some Power Bait at them for a while, and they liked that too. All in all, it turned out to be a great day on the water.
