are you in a boat? if you are, the dry creek and backbone area is usually productive . if you don't want to troll, you might try dropping a line down in that area and use anchovy tails for bait. there are kings in that area. i have used several types of lures to catch trout there, try the local shasta tackle cripplures or humdingers, they seem to work ok. needlefish work too. good luck and don't forget the pfd's

was there 3 weeks ago. fished by the dam at 30' trolling humdinger in sliver on silver and red on brass. got 17 salmon 2 browns and 2 rainbows in 3 days. nothing real big but were good eating.
