Well, we were one of the few to hit the lake today. The weather was beautiful, sunshine, no wind, temps in the 70's............ Yeah right! It was cold, miserable, windy and there was a fresh coat of snow on the hills. Did I mention it was windy?
Hit the water at about 8:30. Started out at the south end with Rapa..........I mean BIG rooster tails ;D. Caught quite a few small planters. Headed down to the dam to try our luck there with Gru........I mean BIG rooster tails. Caught a few more planters scattered around the dam and Heron. We managed to land my nephews new PB 6lb. 10ozs. The whitecaps got to be just too much so we called it a day.
I'm still rocking back and forth typing this.

Brave folks. Beautiful fish. Wonderful smile. Sometimes you have to suffer for your art. ;D

I gotta hand it to you guys for even going, it sure paid off for your nephew and what a smile.
So when trolling down wind were you in reverse or was it speed trolling. ;) ;D

We were going sideways most of the time. Going with the wind wasn't an option. Way too fast!

We failed in a big way today. Del Valle is very fickle.
Super nice trout! I think I saw it's head in the garbage at the cleaning station.
Thanks for the report.....Mike and Kristy.

Fishmaster, tell your nephew congrats on the fish. *I would have thought Fishmaster Jr. would have caught one bigger though. *I hope he's not getting rusty. ;D *Looks like another great day even with the bad weather.

Fishreaper, I think we are going to change Jr's name to Rusty Hooks ;D. He's been missing more than he's landed the last few trips. He is getting better with the net though. Now if I could just teach him how to drive the boat, I might catch a few! :D
